Walking The Aisle.. Best Decision Ever!!
It was 8 years ago today that I said I do to the best husband in the universe! Every year September 19th seems to be such a visual mirror of what our wedding day was like when I woke up that beautiful morning on September 19th of 2010. The skies were sparkling blue with 80 degree temps one would think it was a late June day as oppose to it being an almost late September day. Actually that day was the Point Pleasant Seafood Festival and the streets were already filled up in my part of the neighborhood by 9am (this was my first experience knowing about this festival, I was kind of new to the area at the time), so it was “fun” getting my makeup artist, bridal party entourage including my best friend from Texas, family members and a stretched limo in front of my house! I was so excited to be in my new home that I had just extensively renovated as a first time home buyer and I still couldn’t believe, now I was getting married! I had always been such an independent young woman, never thinking that I would find a guy that would first be one of my best friends that I ever had and that I would meet him at the end of The Aisle one day! I bought my own home and Wally and I were dating for about 4 years and marriage was not always present on my mind, but I loved spending time with him. So it was a very huge surprise to me that on New Years Eve night in 2009 on a NYC dinner cruise he would get down on one knee and ask me to spend the rest of my life with him as his wife. Obviously I said yes and I planned the entire wedding and I was totally a low key bride throughout the entire planning process. All that seriously mattered, is that I was marrying the right guy and I was.
We got hitched at Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant and we couldn’t say enough about how well we were treated by the staff and the ambiance was beautiful. Even though we hired a very pricey well known wedding photographer (we won’t mention names) who contracted to give us two photographers, we ended up with one photographer who seemed like he didn’t even want to take pictures at our wedding. ( We were married at a waterfront venue and never got pics by the water!) The photographer acted like he was bored throughout the entire day and we didn’t receive our wedding proofs until almost a year later. And then we hired a DJ from yet another famous company who introduced us to our guests by my parents last name and screwed up every song including our first dance! Crystal Point staff came to our reception’s rescue by asking the DJ to leave and asked the DJ company who was finishing up the wedding next door to our banquet room to take over our reception, which ended up finishing with a blast of a fun unforgettable rest of the evening.
We look back and laugh now because even though we had some crazy moments at our wedding and at one moment during our wedding I wanted to personally drown both of our vendors that we hired in the back bay of the venue for almost ruining our wedding day, they couldn’t have really ruined it even if they had mooned my guests while announcing us, thank God that didn’t happen, but I won the prize despite their unprofessional services and ineptness, because I left that evening with my best friend as my husband:)
Hence, after seeing my wedding day vendor disappointments the sole reason why my sweet sister started The Aisle Photography in 2014. She didn’t want any more brides to experience my crazy day! The pics in this blog were not from my wedding day, unfortunately they were not up to the standards that we uphold as professional photographers, so my sister gave us a beach photography shoot with for our 4 year anniversary, amazingly my gown still fit!. She’s the best sister in the world as well as an awesome photographer:)
Happy Anniversary Wally..I will Love You Always and Blessings on many more exciting years to come for us!
